You’d think that by the third girl, Patrick would have figured out the order for putting on the baby’s clothes, especially since the way he just removed them to change her should have been a hint! Just for future reference, honey, here’s how it goes:
- diaper
- tights
- onesie
- THEN the bloomers (diaper cover or whatever you call them—K & B call them underwear)
I guess they don’t teach you EVERYTHING at Harvard!

That's funny--Dave did the same thing a couple of Sundays ago. I sometimes think he does it so he will seem less competent and will get out of work. Doesn't happen that way.
hahahaha
Lincoln didn't get it after three girls...if you have a fourth let me know if that's the magic number! In fact, I'm leaving town for a few days and Lincoln asked me to write up instructions for each kid, you know, "what their deal is", along with a picture and full name so he knows who everybody is. He's joking a bit, of course, but the fact is there are a lot of things we do around here that he's just not in the loop on. (Did that make sense?) That includes dressing them. Thank goodness most of them can dress themselves now....
I don't know if I could get it right either! What's with all the layers??? Must be a girl thing! I get the onesie and the tights but why do you need something else on top of that? I'm confused.....
I'll only did diaper, onesie, pants and then a few months later: diaper, pants. Although you would think that the way she looked when he was done would be a clue that there is something not quite right!
LOL!! That's hilarious!
Thanks for the shoe recommendations, too!
That will so be me if we ever have a girl. Boys are so much less work in that department--underwear and pants, that's it.
Hayley is our 4th girl, but the same thing happens when Brian changes her. I just shake my head and laugh. Like the times when he'd dress Corinne in one of Jillian's outfits and not notice that it was huge on her. But Alyssa? No one had to teach her that stuff. She is such a great second mom to Hayley and she always gets the order right.
that is awesome....i have a hard time figuring thatout sometimes too :)
Wow, girls need a lot of layers! I guess it is colder there too. My baby boy is just in a onesie today...with a diaper. I think I might be just as confused as Patrick:)
That's familiar around here, too. And I definitely agree that the tights go under the onesie, especially at Elodie's age (AKA I can undress myself stage) when that onesie helps keep the tights on!
