BTBC

Every day I do a few things that I keep thinking will be the last time I will do that particular thing BEFORE THE BABY COMES (BTBC).  And then another day comes, and I end up doing one of those things again and wonder, "Will THIS time be the last time I will [insert activity here] before the baby comes?"

For example, will today be the last day BTBC that I:

  • wash the dishes
  • make dinner
  • work out
  • sweep the kitchen floor
  • wear this maternity shirt that I'm so sick of
  • watch an episode of Flipping Out
  • shave my legs
  • walk outside to get the mail and see my neighbor who gives me the "pity look"
  • crawl on the floor looking for a missing puzzle piece
  • fold and put away a heaping pile of laundry
  • try to think of somewhere to go to beat the boredom of hanging around the house since I didn't have anything on the schedule for this last week
  • pick up all the clothes on the floor of Berkeley's room after she pulls down everything out of her closet and out of her drawers and tries them all on
  • crash on the couch after the girls are finally in bed
  • tell the girls to PLEASE stop talking and go to sleep
  • toss and turn in my bed trying to find just one comfortable position
  • blog about how this baby is NOT coming!

Why do I have a feeling that the only thing on that list that I've done for the last time is shave my legs?

And why is it that I am just now seeing this fabulous pillow online?  I think we could have been best friends these past few weeks. . .

I hope that it is the last time BTBC for all of those things! We are anxious to find out if you will be joining the ranks of those who have a boy or more. What an adventure. Kudos to you for not finding out!! Hang in there!

Have you resorted to any old midwives' tricks yet? :) Eating lots of fresh pineapple, basalmic vinegar, long walks, enlisting Patrick's "help" ;), etc.? I'm sure there's a million more things to try, too, and even if they're totally inaccurate it could help pass the time, right? :) And you could knock out the first two items on your list by just deciding to order take-out until the baby comes. :) (You deserve it!)

Why is it that when you've delivered early (way early) before that you start to feel overdue even when you haven't passed your due date yet? It was that way for me, too. I remember feeling like I didn't want to see one more person until I had the baby because I was so tired of the "pity looks" and comments from neighbors, people at church, and random strangers around town. It's hard not to be crabby while you are living in limbo, hoping that the big event will happen any minute. Ask Melayna how fun I was to be around while we were waiting for Jillian to appear. Hang in there, Mer, because you've got no other choice! Love you!

I've had to be induced two for two because my babies just won't come! So, I feel your pain! But, I have to say that I am AMAZED that you can still shave your legs at 9 months pregnant!

That pillow looks amazing! Next time . . . I feel for you, the last week of pregnancies I literally go insane. Britt Bowman told me about the design mom blog and that you commented on the cute target dress. Did you ever get it? It looked really great and for $25 you can't go wrong.

Man -- I could REALLY use that pillow right now -- and if I wasn't 30 days away too, I would definitely purchase it -- I feel for you because I have exactly 34 days til i am due, and I am already trying to figure out how to get this little guy to come early! I can't imagine being so close and just on the wait for the contractions to kick in! Since you didn't blog yesterday I am wondering if your little bundle already came......if not, I wish for you (and Patrick so he can finally get a break from work) that he comes today!!!! We are so excited for you and can't wait to hear --- and ps, you are definitly carrying the baby out front and all in the tummy -- no other way so my guess is boy -- just cuz that is what everyone has told me! so can't wait to hear!!!
good luck!

Lol! That pillow (and the bed too!) looks awesome. I feel your pain Mere, I feel your pain. And, btw, what are the names that you guys have picked out, or do you not talk about them?

um, ok, I'm dumb. Sorry about the name question. But, my vote is for Patrick Jr. Or Patricia, if 'he' turns out to be a 'she'.
