my baby is interfering with my blogging

I have had so many things to blog about and NO time to do it!  We've had a busy six weeks since the baby arrived:

My big girls quickly discovered that Mom nursing = about 45 minutes of being able to get into mischief without anyone noticing.  In desperation, I enrolled K & B last minute into the final week of Camp Tutu at the Y.  Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm with only the baby to worry about = a much needed break for Mom!  They were so excited about it and loved every minute.  I got supermom points for letting them go when secretly I was really doing it for ME!

My brother and his wife came to visit us, but you already know all about that.

Kendall had her "meet the teacher" day at school, where she insisted that I take a picture of her and Berkeley sitting in the cafeteria.

We celebrated Patrick's birthday with his traditional cream cheese coconut carrot cake!

We've had a bunch of rain with the remnants of all the tropical storms/hurricanes and the girls couldn't wait to put on all their rain gear and splash around outside!

Kendall had her FIRST day of kindergarten.  She has been excited for this day for months!  There was a little drama that day, but it had nothing to do with being nervous about starting school.  We have to drive her to school because we are a couple blocks outside of the busing zone and because of all the rain we'd had the night before, there was a ton of flooding, which created crazy traffic jams and it took us 35 minutes to drive the 2.5 miles to the school!  (We were 15 minutes late, which is not the best way to start off the year. . .)  But how cute is she in her little uniform?  I didn't cry when I dropped her off, but I did get a little choked up, which surprised me!

Berkeley had her first day of having Kendall gone for the majority of the day since they have full day kindergarten here.  We drop Kendall off at 9:00 am and by 10:00, Berkeley was asking, "Is it time to go pick up Kendall?"  Good thing Berkeley also started back into preschool this week.  Since she goes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, that means I'll only have to listen to that question for hours on end every Tuesday and Thursday!

hey merathon! OF COURSE I remember you! The "Friends" finally at your place when you made that amazingly delicious and beautiful trifle. AND then there was the time you came over to my lovely student housing apartment being all fit, cute and cheerful and brought me homemade bread. I'm so glad I know where your blog is--your family is beautiful!

Isn't it nice when your kids are gone long enough for you to have a chance to miss them? :)

Love Kendall in her uniforn! She looks adorable. I'm so glad she's liking school.
Berkeley passing out after preschool cracks me up! She's played so hard and then the big walk back home. What a cutie.
I definitely feel your pain on the nap situation. Miles was the same way and it totally wasn't worth it to have him nap.
Anyway, how about I just call you!

I can't believe how old your girls look. Like they're about to go off to college or something. Or at least Kindergarten/preschool. So cute!! That cake you made for Patrick's birthday looked delish.
