phew

It was a packed weekend, full of racing (Kendall completed 7 1/2 laps in 13 minutes—cut short because of the heat),IMG_4719

decorating for a dance that I wasn’t invited to,IMG_4727 IMG_4733

a kindergartener and her dad dancing the night away at her first school dance,IMG_4734IMG_4737

lots of soccer time,

helping to transport over 107,000 pounds of food donated by our church/community to those in need,IMG_4750 IMG_4755

and then ending with Patrick and I speaking to the 12-18 year olds at church about setting high standards, saying no to temptations, and achieving their goals.  (Hopefully it went okay!)

I’m exhausted and should be in bed now, but it’s much hotter upstairs than down, and since my computer is downstairs, I’m blogging.  I’m opting for sleepy but cool instead of rested and sweaty.  It’s still April and I refuse to turn on the AC already!  Every fall, my mom always tries to see how long she can go without turning on the heat.  Well, when it comes to cold, I’m a big baby, so I don’t play that game.  But I’m a lot tougher when it comes to heat, so bring it on!

Great pictures. That dance looks so sweet. I never had one of those at elementary school. So cute. The food drive looks AMAZING! WOW WOW WOW.

I have had my AC on tons as my apt gets soooo hot even int he winter from being on the 3rd level above everyone else's heat. I love a cool house. not freezing though. :)

I play both games. How long can I hold off with the heat in the fall (not so long in WI!) and can I make it the whole summer without AC. Last year I think I used my AC maybe five times just to take the edge off the heat in the afternoon for a bit. Looks like a busy but fulfilling weekend!

molly-- just 5 times last year? i bet you didn't do that while you lived HERE! i could always last a little longer than i do, but patrick starts to get WAY too hot and can't stand it anymore! if we can at least make it until MAY!

Sheesh--it's that hot already? We had three inches of snow today! Bet your glad you're not here! And I totally won in the lap gussing game. Not that I'm competitive or anything.

in that top picture, the other girls look beat! kendall looks like she has a few more laps in her. glad the service project went so well.

i'm so not tough when it comes to the heat. of course, we can't really open our windows since we don't get a breeze in our apartment.

and it looks like patrick and kendall had a great time at the dance. what a fun thing to do!
