The last day of school was a shortened day, and since they weren’t doing much anyway given that it was the LAST day, we took them out of school about an hour earlier to catch a flight to NYC! We got in too late to do anything that first day, but the next day we hit one of our favorite spots—Central Park, of course! Who can resist climbing on the huge rocks?
And when you’re there, you’re crazy NOT to ride the carousel.
If you happen to see some street performers, you must stop to watch. (These guys call themselves the Afrobats—acrobats with afros.)
If you’re really cute, you might just get asked to come up and help. . .
. . . but you better stand really still if someone wants to do a flip over you. (And then they’ll give you a dollar for being such a good sport!)
Don’t forget to stop by the Enchanted fountain. . .
. . .and on your way out of the park, make sure to pay your respects to the Imagine memorial at Strawberry Fields. (Every time we go, it is all decorated—click here to see pictures of some of the creations people come up with.)
Loved all the little props with significance to the Beatles, like the yellow submarines, the walrus, the glasses. . .
And after all that, you might be ready for a nap!
