and the Christmas festivities continue. . .

Yesterday, I took Kendall and Berkeley on a mother-daughter date to see The Nutcracker.  Both girls loved the show, although every single time a dance would finish and everyone clapped, Berkeley would ask, “Is that the end?”  The performance we went to was in a very small quaint theatre where no one has a bad seat which meant I was able to make it through the entire performance without a child on my lap and no one whining, “I can’t see!”

A highlight for the girls was after the show when they got to meet Clara and the Sugarplum Fairy and even have their pictures taken with them!

Tonight, the whole family went to see “Journey to Bethlehem” put on by a church just five minutes from our house.  This is our fourth Christmas here in Charlotte, but the first time I had heard about this event.  It was quite a production, complete with city guards, a tax collector, a marketplace with many merchants, shepherds, wise men, an angel, Mary & Joseph, fire pits, and lots of live animals!

Now that we know about it, I think this will become a yearly tradition!  It was a great way to make sure we are all focusing on the most important part of the Christmas season.  (And who doesn’t want a chance to pet a donkey?)

Sounds like a very eventful evening for you guys. The nutcracker sounded really fun and I have always wanted to go to a Bethleham city.

I've always wanted to see the Nutcracker! I'll have to find tickets earlier next year. Looks like you're finding some fun traditions!

There is a church here that does a drive through Nativity that we go to every year. It's so nice to not get out when it's super cold! It backs up traffic for miles on the road it's off of.I can't believe how much Kendall looks like Patrick and B looks like you!I love your hair!Hope you got our Christmas card!
