Friday Food #30

On a night like this when it’s snowing outside and all you want to do is curl up on the couch with your blanket instead of making dinner, it’s nice to be able to do just that because you already have your dinner simmering away in the crockpot!  Here is the recipe for Four Bean Chili that we had tonight.  It’s not a spicy chili because mama doesn’t like it hot, but if you like to take things up a notch, feel free to doctor it up with your choice of extra spices.

Sorry that I’m horrible at food photography—it tastes much better than it looks!  I usually like to serve it with avocado and some chopped cilantro on top, with a side of tortilla chips!

Yum! Looks great! Actually much better than any food photography I can pull off :) Aren't crock pot meals the best? I don't use mine nearly often enough!
While I was reading your post and the recipe over on Vegetarian Nation, I remembered the blog of a friend of a friend and I thought you'd like the concept. This family isn't vegetarian, but they call themselves Sparitarians - eating meat sparingly. She has lots of vegetarian recipes on her blog. Here's the address: http://thesparitarian.blogspot.com/
Have fun with the snow!
